DESCRIBE YOUR RIDING HISTORY WHEN YOU STARTED RIDING.

I started riding in my early teens when my family was given a “free” ex-riding school horse which we agisted in a 2 acre paddock down the road from our home in suburban Bardon. We began with no real knowledge of horses or horse management but quickly learned some new skills once we had joined the local pony clubs at Brookfield and Samford. We had to join two pony clubs as we only had a two horse float between four kids and alternated going to musters at each club, although occasionally we rode over Mt Coo-tha to Brookfield Pony Club for muster. We soon had 4 horses on the 2 acre paddock and were forced to move when it was bought by a developer who has subsequently built 24 town houses on it. My first horse was a Standardbred named Tyson who we bought from Ferny Hills; he bucked me off almost every ride and I learnt to stay on whilst galloping down fire trails around Mt Coo-tha. This is probably when I decided that Eventing was my preferred sport!
