WHICH CARDS DOES AFTERPAY ACCEPT?

Afterpay accepts credit and debit cards from Amex, Mastercard, and Visa which were issued in your country of residence. Afterpay does not accept foreign issued cards for overseas banks or pre-paid cards. Please note, Afterpay does not accept payments by BPAY, Bank Transfer or Pre-Paid cards.

HOW DO I PAY?

There are two basic ways to pay:

The most convenient way to pay is via the automatic payments system. Just go on the App or online and enter the details of your preferred payment card under "Add a payment method" in the "Billings" section of "My Account"

When you have an instalment due, Afterpay will notify you beforehand so you can make sure there is enough in your account for that instalment. Afterpay will do the rest.

Alternatively, you can always make payments on time or early by selecting the PAY NOW button on the App or online in your account. You can then enter your card details manually. If you want to make this your preferred payment method, select "Store my card", otherwise make sure to untick this option before logging out.

CAN I MAKE AN EARLY REPAYMENT?

Yes! The PAY NOW button in your account lets you make a payment any time before an instalment is due, but your remaining instalments dates will stay the same - unless you request to move these dates. If you would like to bring your instalment dates forward, you can submit a request, but it has to be more than 24 hours before an instalment is due.

WHEN WILL MY FIRST PAYMENT BE TAKEN?

When you make a purchase through Afterpay, unless otherwise advised, you will be required to make your first repayment (25% of the price) upfront.

DOES AFTERPAY HAVE AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS SYSTEM?

To make it easy for you to stick to your payment plan deadlines, Afterpay provides automatic payments. This means Afterpay will take your next instalment from your preferred card on the due date. Afterpay will always send you reminders before an instalment is due, so you just need to make sure that there is enough in your account for that instalment.

WHAT HAPPENS IF AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT FAILS?

Afterpay will send you an SMS and email letting you know an automatic payment has failed. If an automatic payment fails, Afterpay will try and collect your instalment from any other cards you may have on your account. Alternatively, you can always make payments manually on time or early - by clicking on the PAY NOW button in your account online or in the App.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE ON A PAYMENT?

If a payment is made after the due date, you will incur a late fee for a missed payment. This will be an initial $10 and a further fee of $7 if the payment is not made within 7 days. To protect you, Afterpay’s late fees are capped and will never go higher than 25% of the price of the item you purchased or $68 (whichever is less).

HOW DO I MAKE AN OVERDUE PAYMENT?

To make an overdue payment, you can log in to your App or online and click PAY NOW next to your "overdue payment" in your "payment schedule" - just follow the prompts.
